I can not stand the button pressing morons at fast food places.
They always mess my order up....
When I say no Mayo, no Tomato i mean NO FUCKING MAYO NO FUCKING TOMATO.
I went off on one of the workers one day, she even repeated the order back to me then gave me a fucking attitudewhen I politely asked her to fix my sandwich.

Rant my friend. Rant.
This girl though, I do feel bad for the things I said....
Some example of what I said was "You button pushing retard, can you not get a fucking order right?"
Things worse were said, something about her not graduating highschool, or a dead end job where you really help no one.
Mean while at my job, I am responsible for peoples lives, I fuck up and someone can die. I can lose my job over a little screw up
They however when they mess up no one bats an eye

Most likely your beef (no pun intended? jk...pun totally intended) would/should be with the food makers/assemblers and not the cashiers.
I've never had a messed up food order that wasn't correct on the receipt; it's always right on the receipt.

I have a problem with paying some one $15 a hour to some one who doesn't have a degree in something. I also think that minimum wage is too low in this economy, and need to be raised.

You do realize that these are humans, and you "going off" on some kid working for 7.50 an hour because he messed up your 3 dollar burger only makes you look like a complete prick to everyone serving you and standing around you. And are you certain its the cashiers fault, maybe the guy on the line fucked it up. Better yet, maybe the guy on the line is friends with the guy at the cashier and when he hears you "go off" on his buddy over a 3 dollar POS sandwich he decides to add his special sauce to your replacement POS sandwich.
I can empathize with your frustration at getting the wrong food, it has happened to all of us, but going off on some poor human being that already has the misfortune of working for a company as shitty as almost all fast food chains because he didnt take the tomato off your sandwich is pretty fuckin lame.

In places like airports Mcdonalds charges more, so I suppose they can easily pay their employees more.
But in general, I agree, they are minimum wage jobs. Upping them to $15 for a whole state would be pretty crazy. As something like a $12 an hour job is highly coveted by people that would otherwise be making minimum wage.... Those jbos would have to go up as well.

I made sure that the cashier was wrong first off.
And second off I did politely ask her to fix it, but then she gave me an attitude saying "Well you should have said what you wanted on it" Well I did, pretty clearly too, she even repeated it back to me when I made the order.
It was on her, Also it is not my fault that she works at a shitty job, she got herself into that situation.
I should also note, when someoen is polite to me, I am notthing but polite back, but if you give me an attitude while doing your job, then I have an issue with that.
I realise they are human.

Where I live its generally 10$ an hour for kids at Mcdonalds, and the like.
They get paid enough to at least live with their parents, or on their own with little assistance.
Raising the min wage that high is absurd in my mind.

I don't agree with the degree bit but believe that pay should be skill based. I got hired by an engineering firm because I'm skilled with computers, and know my way around mechanical devices, and CAD software, but for jobs that require no skill to do I don't believe people should be being payed 15$ an hour, I make a dollar under that and I design parts for industrial machinery for a living.

Well damn dude thanks for leavin out the details. If some prick gave me attitude after I politely request my order get fixed then yes, I would get pissy, not because of the wrong order but because they are being a dick.
Its never your fault that they are working a shitty job because how could it be, I was simply saying if they are stuck in that position for reasons outside of their control then bashing them for no reason is salt in a wound.
Thanks for clarifying your situation I can completely understand your reaction in a situation like that.

Yeah, they'd be making as much as the managers, hahaha.
Full time at $15 and hour is:
50 weeks * 40 hrs * $15 = $30,000 a year.
A manager can't be making much more than that. A lot McDonalds employees are probably part time though. Managers probably get health care too?

If this is not an internship and you have some kind of degree in that skill, you are being ripped off. OTR truck drivers make more than that, and with all due respect to any big rig oppo's reading this, you aren't gonna tell me that's a more difficult/time consuming skill than designing machine parts in AutoCAD (if that's what you use).

The only reason I never got one was because I don't do well in a school setting. I have Aspergers so normal class structure doesn't work with how I think, but when it comes to mechanics and design work its almost instinctual.

That's a load of crap. The people that work at McJobs do so because they have no other choice. It is the bottom, and it's impossible to live on that much money and afford college.
The living wage where I live is $13/hr the minimum is $8/hr. A comfortable life is more like $30/hr.

Did you know you can make more money else where if you applied yourself?
Did you know that the opportunity to make even a tiny bit more than you do now is not infinite and unlimited? Especially now in the post-2008 economy? Did you know that out here in the real world, it's actually the direct opposite of that?
If they can't get a job anywhere else because of drug testing, or something like that, that is their own fault...
I work two jobs. 50+ hours a week. On lucky weeks like this one, I get one day off. All the other weeks though, I spend every day at work with 2-3 double shifts between places every week. On of those jobs involves accepting and storing deliveries made to a fast-food place just like this one.
I'm also A+ and Network+ certified. I can fix computers. That sounds like a valuable skill, right? Computers everywhere break and need to be fixed, right? Sure, but after acquisition, I spent approximately 3 years applying for a limited pool of perpetually unavailable positions. No experience = no job. No job = no experience. Not even an unpaid internship to build experience. Nothing.
Hopefully by this time next year I'll be pharmacy Tech certified. That sounds like a good skill to get when you live in the state where people come to die, right? Hope so, but one of my coworkers has an MHA, and while doing the same two jobs routine that I'm doing, has been applying like I've been in their chosen skill set, and been getting nowhere with it, just as I have. It's unimaginable that someone with a Masters in Health Administration can't even find an internship in their field in Florida, but that's where we are today. If the same happens to me this time next year, then I'll be back as square one, looking for other opportunities, but still grinding for pennies at 50+ hours a week.
Oh, and I don't have drug problems at all. No felonies. No DUIs. Not so much as a speeding ticket on my driving record. Never done anything harder than alcohol(lol), and never, ever have I engaged in drinking before going to work, or getting into a car. I also don't have any attendance/lateness problems that would pop up on my resume. Despite being a popular meme among conservatives, you don't get to be lazy and unmotivated while 200+ people are applying and fighting for even your tiny amount of opportunity. Yeah, that's right; my store gets 200+ applications/week.
So why do some people think they can just ask for $15/hr and get it just like that? I don't know. Maybe for the same reason some people can expect to get 250% more money than they use to, with guaranteed 25% increases year over year?
People shouldn't be paid for doing nothing. And with bigger risks should come bigger rewards. But if only a select few people have the right to just ask for more and get it - and they do - then our meritocracy is a joke. Listen; there is no goddamned reason for someone with AutoCAD skills manufacturing machine parts to make less than a freaking OTR truck driver, but that's what's going on here in this very thread.

Yeah my main reason for not asking for a raise is due to job security. We have a pretty high turn over rate where I work, and i make enough to live comfortably and can afford car payments and rent while still having enough left over to save a decent amount. if they raise the minimum where I live then ill say something.
